Do you resonate with one of those? If so, then you’ll feel right at home here.

Hi, I’m Jackie. I’m a twenty-something who traded med school for a Master’s degree in Marine Ecology and a dream of traveling the world. Still working on completing the latter, but life’s about slowing down and enjoying the journey, amirite? I’ll get there eventually. In the meantime, my goal is to share my adventures with you.

I’m a strong believer in leaps of faith, following your heart, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and treating life as an incredible adventure. I’m also an advocate for breaking the stigma surrounding travel – that its too expensive, too time consuming, too hard to plan for.

I think everyone should have the opportunity to see the world, but if you’re like me, you’re a millennial with a tight schedule and an even tighter budget (thanks, student loans). BUT your overwhelming sense of wanderlust doesn’t have to make life complicated. It doesn’t have to break the bank. Its absolutely possible to plan an epic and timely adventure without the hefty price tag. How do I know? Because I do it. All the time. I’m practically a (totally self-proclaimed) expert on budget-friendly travel and adventuring off the beaten path.

My passion is taking the path less travelled to experience that sought after authentic connection to the world around me and helping others do the same. I write about where I’ve been, what to pack, how to budget/plan, and the beauty in avoiding the safety and convenience of touristy restaurants and major attractions.

This is my odyssey, whats yours?
